I first fell in love with Portugal two years ago when I spent time creating photographs with Jose Antunes, a professional photographer and writer living in the Sintra area. After that visit, I was drawn to return to explore even more of the land and seascapes as well as historical towns, churches, and palaces that pepper the rolling hills. This spring, I organized and took a group of photo enthusiasts and artists from Vancouver for an amazing photography tour there.

This collection of photographs represents images I created during my discoveries that week. I hope you will take the journey with me in your mind’s eye. Imagine standing on craggy, wind-swept cliffs overlooking the sea with a vista of white-capped waves that stretch far beyond the horizon, walking on squeaky, golden sand and breathing in the fresh sea-salty air, wandering through lush gardens redolent with the scent of orange trees and spring flowers, strolling along twisty, narrow cobbled streets, exploring small villages with terracotta tiled roofs and moss covered stone fences, and being awed by the opulence of palatial architecture and the playgrounds of the aristocracy.
